Grace and Peace to you from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
Almost as soon as I arrived to journey this interim period with you, we started two teams to look at re-opening in-person worship. Bishop Davenport has asked for caution and requested that congregations not do any in-person worship until we entered the Green phase and, even then, to start with outdoor worship which is much safer. Since we are there now, we are looking at beginning outside worship in the pavilion on Sunday, July 19 at 9:00 am.
Things will be different both outside and when we eventually enter the sanctuary. This expectation document deals with outside worship. Another notification will be sent out once we are moving inside the building to tell you what to expect there.
The virus is not going away so our lives have all changed dramatically. Most of us don’t like it. But the priority is to come together as we are able and to worship Jesus and give thanks for his life, death and resurrection.
If you are immune compromised in any way that puts you at risk for contracting the virus please make your decisions about attendance thoughtfully and prayerfully. A list of vulnerable individuals includes: Over age 60 years, Chronic kidney disease, COPD / lung conditions / asthma, Immunocompromised, Obese, Serious heart conditions / heart failure / coronary artery disease / cardiomyopathies, Sickle Cell, Diabetics, Smokers, Pregnant, Liver disease, Dementia, CVA (stroke), and Hypertension (high blood pressure).
With people being required to wear masks and maintain physical distancing we are striving to be cautious.
Please note that should we regress into an earlier stage we will need to pull back from any in-person worship. We are exploring our options there, too, for live streaming.
